Your career coach is a mentor that has direct experience working as a certified nursing assistant 2 (CNA2). Career coaches help you prepare to pass the OSBN exam and aid you in finding employment by hosting study sessions, providing feedback on your resume, offering interview practice, and providing referrals to partnered facilities.  

Students receive a paid stipend for participating in this NA training. We also offer financial support to purchase scrubs, shoes, and other required supplies that you need to work in a healthcare setting. Tuition, and all program fees are covered by Long-Term CareWorks.

Students receieve reimbursement up to $80 for purchases of black or navy-blue scrub bottoms, and maroon scrub tops.

If you are receiving sponsorship from Long-Term CareWorks to attened NA training through EMT Associates, they will also provide 1 scrub top.

We work with SEIU Local 503, Oregon’s largest care provider labor union, and responsible employers that have union negotiated low-cost, quality health insurance coverage, competitive starting pay, and yearly raises. Together we provide education, benefits, and career development opportunities for participants in Long-Term CareWorks programs.

We want you to be successful in your career goals, and the interview process helps ensure you’re the right fit for Long-Term CareWorks training–and that we’re the right fit for you! After completion of the interview process, we pair accepted students with a responsible employer in the long-term care field.

Long-Term CareWorks accepts applications on a rolling basis. We will update our website with the most current information about upcoming cohorts as details are available.

A stipend is an amount of money paid directly to the student, based on weekly attendance of the program. Stipends will be paid directly to students on a regular schedule and are meant to supplement your financial obligations while completing this program.  

The stipend will be paid every Thursday of the program following 40 hours of training the prior week. This regular stipend schedule helps you focus on learning and your career goals.   

Many of our union affiliated facilities offer retention bonuses if you commit to working for them for a minimum of 1 year. This process is handled by each employer, and we cannot guarantee that your employer facility offers a retention bonus.

The Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) requires all NAs to pass an exam that demonstrates their understanding of the curriculum and applied skills. 

The test will be given at the same facility where you have trained, so you’ll feel comfortable and secure with your testing surroundings. Once you pass the test, you will be certified as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in Oregon.

• Pass a drug test and background check 

• Show proof of your vaccines 

• Be able to attend all classes
